During AlternativeSMT’s feeder refurbishment process it became apparent that there was a need to dynamically test feeders at machine speed. Only by simulating actual machine conditions could AlternativeSMT properly test and calibrate their refurbished feeders so that they were 100% fault free.

The FeederMaster was a departure from the proprietary test jigs supplied by the manufacturers that only allowed users to set up the correct pick position but gave no facility to dynamically test the feeder to ensure that it would stay within calibration at production speeds.

With the increasing use of 0402/0201 components, the need for a greater calibration and test procedure has grown. With over 100 FeederMasters sold in Europe since it’s release the FeederMaster has become integral tool in the ever-increasing world of feeder maintenance.

The FeederMaster is built in a modular form so that it is easy to test a variety of manufacturers’ feeders. In order to test a different manufacturer’s feeder users simply need to plug in the relevant module. As the FeederMasters’ user base grows, new modules for the jig are being developed all the time.
